About REV Fest (Red Earth Vegans Festival)

REV Fest — short for Red Earth Vegans Festival — is Oklahoma City's homegrown plant-based celebration, returning for 2026 on Saturday 10 October from 5pm to 10pm at the OKC Public Farmers Market in the historic Farmers Market District. The evening format is unusual for a US vegan festival and was chosen deliberately to dodge October's lingering Oklahoma heat while giving the event a cooler, string-light ambience that day markets can't match.

What makes REV Fest distinctive is its explicitly zero-profit, volunteer-driven model. The organising team — Red Earth Vegans — runs the festival on donated time and keeps vendor costs intentionally low to make it accessible for tiny startups and one-person operations that couldn't afford bigger festival fees. Proceeds and sponsorships go back into supporting animal sanctuaries and vegan nonprofits, with past editions featuring The Misfits of Oz and Free Mom Hugs alongside the food vendors.

The 2026 lineup includes returning favourites MushWings, Happy Cow, Shaq's Vegan Dogs and Yummus Hummus, plus new additions rolled out on the festival's Facebook and Instagram in the weeks before the event. Beyond food, expect live music across the evening, guest speakers covering animal rights and plant-based living, plus nonfood vendors selling cruelty-free cosmetics, vegan clothing and artisan goods. The all-ages crowd typically includes families with kids early in the evening shifting to a more adult vibe after 8pm.

Entry is completely free — another deliberate choice to welcome the veg-curious rather than gatekeep vegan identity. The OKC Public Farmers Market venue is covered with concrete flooring, so rain doesn't cancel things, and there's ample free parking plus easy access from I-40 for out-of-town visitors from Tulsa or Norman. Practical tip: bring cash as many smaller vendors are cash-only, and eat in waves — five hours is plenty of time to sample across 20+ food booths without queuing fatigue.
