About VeggieWorld Hamburg
VeggieWorld Hamburg has been a fixture of the northern German vegan calendar since 2016, and the 2026 edition lands on 17-18 October at MesseHalle Hamburg-Schnelsen. It's run by Wellfairs GmbH, the same team behind the wider VeggieWorld tour that started in Wiesbaden in 2011 and now spans more than a dozen European cities. The Hamburg stop sits neatly between the Düsseldorf spring show and the Munich winter finale.
The venue is a working exhibition hall in the Schnelsen district in the northwest of the city, about 15 minutes by car from the centre and directly accessible via the A7 autobahn. It's a purpose-built space, less character than Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf, but more practical, with wide aisles, good lighting and plenty of parking. Public transport users can ride the U2 U-Bahn to Niendorf Nord and take a short bus connection, or use the bus network directly from Altona.
The exhibitor mix is what you'd expect from a mature VeggieWorld: plant-based food brands dominate, with meat and dairy alternatives, spreads, cheeses, chocolate, oat milks, protein bars, raw snacks and fermented drinks taking up most of the floor. Around the edges you'll find vegan cosmetics and skincare, cruelty-free fashion, sustainable household goods, eco-cleaning products and animal-welfare charities. Food trucks and hot-food stalls anchor a central catering zone, burgers, bowls, currywurst, crêpes, cakes, so you can easily spend four or five hours on site without a proper meal break elsewhere.
The supporting programme (Rahmenprogramm) typically includes cooking demos, short talks on nutrition and sustainability, and panel discussions with exhibitors. It's pitched at a general consumer audience rather than the activist crowd, which makes it a good introduction for curious omnivores and flexitarians. Families are welcome, buggy-friendly, with free entry for young children at most VeggieWorld stops.
Tickets for the 2026 Hamburg edition were already on sale at the time of writing, which is unusual for a VeggieWorld event this far out and suggests strong early interest. Opening hours follow the standard 10:00-18:00 pattern across both days. If you're combining this with a Hamburg weekend, the Fischmarkt on Sunday morning (Altona) and the Speicherstadt warehouse district are both easy additions, Schnelsen itself is residential and you won't want to hang around after the hall closes.
