How we checked these markets
The starting point was a roundup by @vegansofzuri. We then checked every market against the organiser's website, Instagram bio and recent posts, and against city event listings where they existed. Where sources disagreed, the organiser's own page wins, and the market page says so.
We only list markets where every stall is vegan and the 2026 dates are announced. A Paris market and a Berlin listing are still waiting for confirmed dates; we will add them once they are. Running a vegan Christmas market we missed? Tell us.
Questions people ask
Which German cities have a fully vegan Christmas market in 2026?
Five confirmed so far: Cologne (Veihnachtsmarkt in Kalk, three Advent weekends from 4 December), Düsseldorf (28–29 November), Leipzig (5–6 December at Philippus), Aschaffenburg (6 December) and Heidelberg (12 December on Friedrich-Ebert-Platz). Every stall at these markets is plant-based, so you don't need to ask about ingredients.
Is there a vegan Christmas market in Berlin?
Not one we could confirm for 2026. Berlin's city listings mention a fully vegan market at Fehrbelliner Platz, but without dates or an organiser, so we have left it off until it is announced. Most of Berlin's regular Christmas markets now have several vegan stalls, but none we know of is 100% vegan.
Is there a vegan Christmas market in London?
London has no dedicated vegan Christmas market that we could find. The closest is the London Vegan Fayre at Kensington Town Hall on Saturday 5 December 2026, a one-day vegan fair with food and gift stalls. In the UK, the Vegan Christmas Market Co runs dedicated markets in Cardiff, Gloucester and Bristol.
Are vegan Christmas markets free to enter?
Many are. Cologne, Leipzig, Heidelberg, Gothenburg, Toulouse, Norwich and Montreal are free. The three Vegan Christmas Market Co events in Cardiff, Gloucester and Bristol charge a small entry fee of £3, and the London Vegan Fayre is ticketed. Each market page lists the entry details we could confirm.
What food can you expect at a vegan Christmas market?
The same winter classics as any Christmas market, made without animal products: Glühwein and punch, potato fritters, vegan bratwurst, Flammkuchen, Käsespätzle, waffles, stollen and gingerbread in Germany; vegan fondue in Switzerland; mince pies and sausage rolls in the UK; tourtière-style pies in Montreal. Most markets also have handmade gifts, cosmetics and stalls from animal sanctuaries.
