About VeganFest Malta
VeganFest Malta returns for its third edition on 16-17 May 2026, taking over the Oak Tree Circle inside Ta' Qali National Park in Attard - the 350,000 sqm regenerated green space that has become Malta's largest public park. Produced by Eco Market Malta, the festival pitches itself as a "plant-powered paradise" and has grown into one of the Mediterranean's most established vegan events, drawing an estimated 10,000+ visitors across the weekend.
Ta' Qali's outdoor setting - shaded avenues, grass lawns, and the former RAF airfield - is carved into distinct zones that keep the festival feeling multi-layered rather than monolithic. The Food Court brings food trucks and stalls serving global vegan cuisine, from Mediterranean comfort food to international street-food formats, desserts, and natural drinks. The Eco Market mixes sustainable fashion, thrift racks, vegan cosmetics, and cruelty-free home goods. A dedicated Wellness Zone runs rolling yoga, dance, meditation, and self-defence sessions throughout both days, while the Sports & Fitness Active Zone keeps more energetic visitors moving.
Families are well catered for. A Kids Area runs cruelty-free craft workshops, face painting, and games, and there's a dedicated pet-friendly chill area since many Maltese visitors bring their dogs. Live music, guest performers, and a roster of community competitions - including the festival's signature Blindfold Challenge - punctuate the weekend. Talks and panels on plant-based nutrition, sustainability, and Maltese vegan businesses round out the educational programme.
Gates open at 11:00 on Saturday 16 May, and tickets are sold via Eventbrite. The park offers ample parking and is reachable by public transport from Valletta, Sliema, and most of the central Malta corridor; organisers also actively promote carpooling and cycling. VeganFest Malta is the rare vegan festival that balances scale (10,000+ visitors, large vendor market) with a genuinely relaxed outdoor-festival atmosphere - ideal for a weekend that mixes food, wellness, and Maltese spring weather.
