About Lisbon Vegan Market
The Lisbon Vegan Market is Portugal's most established recurring pop-up vegan market, operating on a roughly monthly cadence (typically the second Sunday of the month) across three rotating locations: Loft Marvila in Lisbon, the Jardim Municipal de Oeiras, and - newly added - a venue in Porto at the Residents' Association of Bouça. Admission is always free, and the market has been running since 2023, quickly becoming a fixture for Lisbon's expanding vegan community and the broader network of Portuguese plant-based makers.
The main Lisbon venue, Loft Marvila, is a beautifully restored 1891 warehouse in the rapidly-gentrifying Marvila district - brick walls, industrial windows, and enough room to host 20+ vendors across an airy indoor floor. The Oeiras edition moves outdoors into the Jardim Municipal, a green space with lakes, trees, a children's playground, and a dog park, giving the market a picnic-style feel. Each location is intentionally chosen to make the experience distinct: industrial urban one weekend, park-garden the next.
Vendor rosters rotate but typically include 20-30 stalls across vegan street food, pastries, handcrafted desserts, natural cosmetics, cruelty-free crafts, artisan beverages, and small-batch plant-based brands. Beyond shopping and eating, the organisers program free activities - from zero-waste workshops to talks and occasional live music - keeping the market closer to a cultural event than a simple retail pop-up. Dogs on leashes are welcome, and visitors are asked to bring reusable bags and containers in line with the market's sustainability ethos.
Because dates shift monthly and new locations are regularly added, the most reliable way to plan a visit is to follow @lisbonveganmarket on Instagram or subscribe to the newsletter via lisbonveganmarket.pt. For visitors to Portugal, stacking a market weekend into a Lisbon trip is one of the easiest ways to sample the breadth of the Portuguese vegan scene in a single afternoon - and for locals, it has become the default monthly meeting point for the country's plant-based entrepreneurs.
