About Magnaveg - Sud Festival Vegan
Magnaveg is the inaugural edition of Southern Italy's first dedicated vegan festival, arriving in Naples on 18-19 April 2026. Hosted inside the iconic FOQUS - Fondazione Quartieri Spagnoli on Via Portacarrese a Montecalvario 69 (a short walk from Metro Toledo), the event transforms the historic palazzo into a two-day celebration of plant-based food, ethics, and Neapolitan cultural energy.
Promoted by AMMARE CULT under the patronage of VEGANOK and the Associazione Vegani Italiani, Magnaveg positions itself as a "participatory cultural event" rather than a simple food fair. Programming unfolds across multiple floors: talks on antispeciesism, ecology, and ethics, free nutritional consultations (pre-booked at [email protected]), and a popup market packed with small independent producers, plant-based brands, and animal sanctuaries. A highlight is the free screening of the documentary *Maledetti Vegani*, released on March 24, 2026, which kicks off the talk programme.
The showcooking line-up anchors the weekend: on Saturday at 12:30, Valeria Sommella and VEGANOK Academy chef Boris Scafati lead a double demonstration, while Sunday at 12:30 belongs to Chef Salvatore Montella partnering with KALEA. Masterclasses, art installations, and stand-up and drag performances fill the evenings. The FOQUS rooftop, with its 360-degree view over Naples and Mount Vesuvius, hosts guided meditation and shared pauses between sessions.
Magnaveg runs Saturday 10:00-23:00 and Sunday 10:00-20:00. Entry is ticketed at EUR 5 per day or EUR 8 for the full weekend, bookable on-site or via ETES. The festival actively dialogues with the concurrent Napoli Queer Festival and partners with animal sanctuaries across Campania, underscoring its ambition to become a Southern Italian hub for vegan culture, activism, and community.
