About Marché de Noël Végane de Montréal
The Marché de Noël Végane de Montréal is the city's dedicated 100% plant-based Christmas market, and the 9th edition runs on 5-6 December 2026 at the Salle Agora in downtown Montreal. The organisers expect around 3,000 visitors over the weekend, which makes it one of the larger vegan Christmas events in North America. It is run by the same team that organises Vegapalooza.
Inside you will find plant-based food, artisan gifts and local makers. The focus is firmly on Montreal and Quebec producers, so it is a good place to pick up presents that are vegan from start to finish, from sweets and baked goods to handmade items. A full vendor list has not been published yet, so keep an eye on the organiser's Instagram, @vegan_noel, for announcements as the date gets closer.
Opening hours are 10:30-17:30 on both Saturday and Sunday. Entry is free, and you can reserve free tickets through the official website, which is worth doing to avoid queues. The market is indoors, which is a real advantage in a Montreal December, when temperatures regularly drop well below freezing. The venue is only two minutes from Place-des-Arts metro, so it is simple to reach without a car, and the Quartier des Spectacles is right outside for a walk afterwards.
One warning for vendors and visitors alike: a look-alike website with a similar address, marchnoelvegane.com, has been used to target vendors. The official site is marchenoelvegane.com, so use only that for tickets and applications.
For a vegan Advent trip, combine the weekend market with Montreal's wider plant-based restaurant scene. Arrive early on Saturday for the best choice of food and gifts, since popular items from small makers tend to sell out, and bring a tote bag for your purchases. The market is a good fit for families as well as groups of friends.
