Veihnachtsmarkt Düsseldorf

Veihnachtsmarkt Düsseldorf is a brand-new addition to the German vegan Advent calendar. For 2026 the team behind Cologne's vegan winter market, Voodmarkt (founded by RosaRot e.V.), brings its format to Düsseldorf for the first time. It takes place on 28–29 November 2026, the first Advent weekend, at the Jugendkirche (Kruppstraße 13) in Düsseldorf. If you want to start the season early, the first Advent weekend is the time.

The concept is the same one that has worked in Cologne since 2022: an entirely plant-based market where nobody has to read ingredient lists. The organisers list a family programme, a creative market with handmade and small-label gifts, and live performances. We have not found a published vendor list for this first edition, so the exact food stalls are still unknown. Based on the Cologne market, expect the usual German winter classics in vegan form, such as Flammkuchen, fritters, waffles and Glühwein, but treat that as an educated guess until the stall list appears.

Opening hours are Saturday 12:00–21:00 and Sunday 12:00–20:00. The organisers do not state an admission price on the event page we checked, so look at the Voodmarkt page or @vood.markt on Instagram before you go. The venue is a church building, so you should find at least part of the market indoors, which is a relief on a cold late-November weekend. Düsseldorf has good rail and tram connections, and a first-time event is a good reason to arrive by public transport and not plan on parking.

This also works as a vegan Advent weekend plan. Voodmarkt's Cologne market starts a week later, on 4–6 December, and the two cities are less than an hour apart by regional train.
