About Vegan Camp Out
Vegan Camp Out is the biggest vegan festival in the UK, and 2026 is a milestone: the event celebrates its 10th anniversary over four days and nights from 14-17 August 2026 at Walesby Forest in Nottinghamshire. Billed by organisers as its most ambitious programme to date, the festival has been voted "UK's Best Vegan Festival" and has donated £10,000 to Viva! from previous editions.
The venue is a key part of the draw. Walesby Forest sits on 250+ acres within Sherwood Forest, a nearly 90-year-old outdoor activity centre near Newark (postcode NG22 9NG). It's genuinely in the woods, expect campfires, dappled light through pine trees, and the full camping-festival texture rather than a field-and-fencing vibe.
The 2026 speaker line-up is extraordinary by vegan-festival standards: Moby joins as a headline speaker, alongside Green Party leader Zack Polanski, journalist George Monbiot, metal vocalist Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), ALF founder Ronnie Lee, Earthling Ed, Peter Egan, Dr Matthew Nagra, Delilah Bon and comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean. On the music side, confirmed artists include JME, Akala, Macka B and High Contrast, with more than 38 DJ sets and themed afterparties (70s/80s, techno, and rock/metal/punk nights).
Food is a headline act in its own right, organisers describe 2026 as "the largest selection of plant-based food ever seen at a UK festival." Beyond the main stage and talk tents, you'll find yoga and meditation programming, comedy, family entertainment, a spa with hot tubs and sauna, and an on-site activity pass covering rock climbing, swimming and archery. A dedicated kids' area and family-friendly camping zone make this one of the few large vegan festivals where bringing children actually works.
Ticket pricing starts around £80 + fee for day tickets, with glamping teepees from £109 per person (bed, electricity, private facilities included) and pre-pitched tent hire available via Circular Camping. Accessible camping with dedicated support is available, register in advance.
Practical notes: the nearest station is Retford (direct trains from London King's Cross in under 2 hours), with a coach or taxi onward to Walesby. Bring wet-weather gear regardless of forecast (it's England in August), a reusable water bottle, and cash for some of the smaller food stalls. If you only attend one UK vegan event in 2026, this is it.
