About Gloucester Vegan Christmas Market

The Gloucester Vegan Christmas Market is where the whole thing started: the organiser held its first market here in 2017. In 2026 it runs on Sunday 6 December in a new home, St Mary de Crypt, a Grade I listed medieval church on Southgate Street in the heart of Gloucester. The church has Norman origins and was rebuilt in the late 1300s, so you browse vegan gifts under old stone and timber rather than in a function room.

The market is fully vegan and mostly indoors, with about 50 stalls from independent makers and food businesses. Think vegan treats and hot drinks, gifts, crafts, cards and cruelty-free beauty. It is run by The Vegan Christmas Market Co, which offers free stalls to charities and has a record of donating to animal and environmental causes, and the FARS animal sanctuary attends all three of its markets. If you came for a particular stall, check the organiser's Instagram nearer the date, because the exhibitor line-up is announced there.

Opening hours are 10:00 to 15:00, a little shorter than the Cardiff and Bristol dates, so plan to arrive in the morning. Entry is GBP 3 on the door, under-16s are free with a paying adult, and dogs are welcome. The church has lifts and ramps to all areas, which matters in a building this old. Southgate Street is a short walk from Gloucester railway station and sits in the historic centre close to the cathedral, so you can combine the market with a wander round the old streets and the docks. It is a gentler, smaller-town day out than Bristol or Cardiff, and a good fit for a relaxed Sunday.

Gloucester is the middle date of the three: Cardiff on 29 November, Gloucester on 6 December and Bristol on 12 December.
