Veganer Weihnachtsmarkt Leipzig

The Veganer Weihnachtsmarkt Leipzig is one of the longest-running vegan Christmas markets in Germany. The organisers' Instagram says established 2013, and 2025 was the tenth edition. In 2026 it takes place on 5–6 December, the second Advent weekend, at PHILIPPUS Leipzig (Aurelienstraße 54), a church, hotel and event grounds on the Karl-Heine-Kanal. The location is between the districts of Plagwitz and Lindenau, west of the city centre.

The organiser is PHILIPPUS Leipzig, an inclusion company of the BBW-Leipzig-Gruppe. In 2025 the market grew onto Aurelienstraße with more than 40 stalls. The mix is vegan street food (much of it organic), crafts and sustainable gifts, animal-rights and environmental information stands and live music. Past editions used outdoor stalls as well as the Historischer Saal and the church, so there is some shelter if the weather turns, though you should still dress for the cold.

Opening hours are Saturday and Sunday 12:00–20:00, and admission is free. The market is relaxed and family-friendly, a good pick for a gift shop and a long lunch in one stop. Public transport from the centre is the easy way out to Plagwitz, and the neighbourhood is also pleasant to walk through before or after your visit.

A note on listings: the old domain veganer-markt-leipzig.de has a broken security certificate, and leipzig.travel still shows a stale date from 2025 (one day later). The official PHILIPPUS page and the organisers' Instagram both give 5–6 December 2026. Leipzig also works well as a city weekend with a vegan Advent market on the programme.
